Module Aims

Provide students with an essential introduction to the core principles and concepts of cybersecurity, assuming no prior knowledge but some basic cybersecurity awareness. Students will gain a holistic understanding of the modern cybersecurity landscape, preparing them for more advanced topics and practical applications.

Module Learning Outcome

1. Gain a profound understanding of fundamental security principles, enabling them to assess security risks and apply appropriate security measures.
2. Critically assess the design and implementation of systems and applying hardening measures effectively.
3. Design and develop cybersecurity strategies while considering ethical and legal standards.
4. Develop and implement organisational policy and security strategies to maintain operational resilience and cybersecurity readiness.
